Barszcz czerwony - Polish beetroot soup

Barszcz czerwony is a classic beetroot soup, here as a quick noodle soup seasoned with marjoram, garlic and pepper. The broth is sweet and sour with a lightly smoky edge, and the noodles soften in just a few minutes. Perfect when you want something warm and full of flavour without any fuss.

How to enjoy it:

• Preparation: Place the noodles and seasoning sachet in a bowl and pour over 400 ml of hot water.
• Waiting time: Stir, leave to stand for 3–5 minutes and serve hot.
• Quick lunch: An easy meal at work, at school or on the go.
• Variation: Top with dill, soured cream or a boiled egg.

Ingredients: noodles: wheat flour, palm fat, modified starch, salt, rapeseed oil, mixed tocopherols, fatty acid esters of ascorbic acid. Seasoning mix: sugar, salt, maltodextrin, dried beetroot juice, flavour enhancers (monosodium glutamate, disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate), salt substitute, citric acid, palm oil, marjoram, pepper, garlic, concentrated beetroot juice, flavourings (including milk, celery), smoke flavouring.

May contain traces of egg and mustard.
