Boondi Masala
Haldiram's Boondi Masala snacks are a spicy version of boondi, which are small puffs made from chickpea flour. These puffs are often used as an important ingredient in Indian raita, a yogurt sauce that is usually served as a side dish to meals.
To make Boondi Masala snacks, chickpea flour is mixed with spices and salt into a thin batter. This batter is then poured into a special boondi maker that drips tiny drops of the batter into hot oil. The small drops are fried until they become crispy and golden brown and become the puffs we call boondi.
Haldiram's Boondi Masala snacks have a spicy flavor profile, where various spices are added to give an extra dimension of flavor and heat. These snacks can be eaten as is as a delicious and crunchy treat, or they can be used to prepare Indian raita.
To use Boondi Masala snacks in raita, they are usually soaked in water to soften slightly before mixing with yogurt, spices and other ingredients. Raita is a refreshing and cooling sauce that is often used to balance flavors in Indian meals.
