Tomato Paste - Burcu - 830g

Burcu Tomato Paste (domates salçası) is a concentrated Turkish tomato paste made from 100% tomato – with no added salt. With at least 28% Brix, it has a thick texture, deep tomato flavour and a bright red colour. The big 830 g tin lasts a long time if you cook a lot.

How to use it:

• Turkish cooking: The base of kuru fasulye, köfte in tomato sauce, karnıyarık and stuffed peppers.
• Stews and bolognese: Fry a spoonful with onion and oil for a rounder, fuller flavour.
• Soups: Adds colour and body to lentil soup and tomato soup.
• Pasta sauce and pizza: Thin with water or stock for a quick tomato sauce.
• Tip: Transfer opened paste to a glass jar, cover with a thin layer of oil and keep in the fridge.
