Canarias is one of South America's best-loved yerba mate brands. The mate is finely ground and completely stem-free, giving a strong, full-bodied and aromatic flavour. It is perfect for chimarrão – the classic way of drinking it from a gourd – and is gluten-free. Yerba mate contains natural caffeine.

How to enjoy it:

Traditional: Fill a gourd two-thirds full, add water at 70–80 °C and drink through a bombilla.
Tereré: Pour over ice-cold water or juice for a refreshing summer drink.
As tea: 1–2 tsp per cup in a tea strainer or cafetière.
Tip: Never use boiling water – it makes the flavour bitter.
