TRS Tukmaria, also known as sabja or basil seeds, swell within minutes in water to form jelly-like pearls with a black centre. They are popular in refreshing drinks and desserts in both Indian and other Asian cuisines.

How to enjoy it:

  • Falooda: A classic dessert drink with milk, rose syrup and ice cream.
  • Lemonade and iced tea: Gives the drink fun pearls.
  • Smoothies and yoghurt: Stir in for texture.
  • Tip: Soak 1 tsp seeds in a glass of water for 10–15 minutes.
